Ivanhoe Grammar School and Go1: Elevating leadership and learning for 500 staff across four campuses

Ivanhoe Grammar is a leading multi-campus school in Victoria, Australia, with more than 500 employees across academic and professional services roles. With no central learning platform, online professional development was fragmented and often inaccessible. Brayden Stone, Director of the Ivanhoe Institute, led the move to Go1, transforming professional learning into something more accessible, engaging, and strategic. The result? A custom learning hub, a 10-module leadership program, growing engagement, and plans for an induction program that will support every new staff member.

Story Highlights
- Ivanhoe Grammar has 500+ employees across four campuses and multiple learning pathways.
- Online professional learning was hard to access, untracked, and overly reliant on external events.
- Staff engagement rose as learning moved in-house and became asynchronous and self-paced.
- Brayden launched Ivanhoe LEAD (Leadership Excellence and Development), a 10-module leadership development program powered by Go1.
- A full online induction experience and compliance training are now in development.
- The school eliminated the need for multiple platforms and reduced cognitive load for staff.
"We had staff Googling, searching YouTube, or leaving campus to learn," Brayden explains. "That’s not scalable, and the training they were finding wasn’t always aligned with our culture or goals."

Leading the shift: Brayden Stone
Brayden Stone joined Ivanhoe Grammar as the founding Director of the Ivanhoe Institute, a center designed to support leadership, learning, and academic growth. One of his first priorities: rethink how staff accessed professional learning.
"We had staff Googling, searching YouTube, or leaving campus to learn," Brayden explains. "That’s not scalable, and the training they were finding wasn’t always aligned with our culture or goals."
By implementing Go1, Brayden created a shared platform for staff development, spanning both academic and professional services teams. He worked with Go1 to make the hub feel entirely like Ivanhoe, with its own language, branding, and structure. From self-paced learning to fully custom programs, Go1 enabled a shift from reactive training to proactive, curated learning experiences that now underpin leadership, engagement, and retention.
"It was important that learning felt like an extension of how we operate, not an add-on," Brayden says. "Go1 gave us the framework, but we were in the driver’s seat."

Supporting the workforce
Ivanhoe needed more than just another tool. Brayden wanted a platform that was flexible, easy to use, and aligned to the school's identity. Go1 became the foundation for Ivanhoe’s learning hub, custom-branded, accessible to all staff, and built for asynchronous access.
"We were big on reducing cognitive load," Brayden says. "Our staff wanted access to great learning, just without having to leave students or dig through multiple systems to find it."
Professional services staff, often left out of learning pathways, now had the same access as academic teams. Whether learning to code or exploring strategic communication, every employee could build skills that support their development and impact.

Choosing Go1
Brayden discovered Go1 while researching solutions online. What stood out wasn’t just the platform, but the flexibility to blend external content with Ivanhoe's own.
Executive leadership backed the move. Go1’s support team helped launch the platform with impact, including a school-wide launch event where staff explored content immediately after going live. Brayden wanted that early experience to feel open and exploratory. "I didn’t want to overtrain or overwhelm. I just wanted people to dive in," he says. "That moment mattered. It turned curiosity into momentum."
Achieving Results
Go1 quickly became more than a content library. It became the launchpad for Ivanhoe Lead, a 10-module leadership development program accessible to all staff.
From modules on relational leadership to strategic thinking, staff self-enroll, complete reflection tasks, meet with a mentor, and receive a leadership book and micro-credential on completion. The entire experience is self-paced, data-tracked, and embedded in the school's growth culture.
Brayden shares one powerful example:
“I’m currently mentoring a young IT team member, no formal leadership role, just drive. He saw a gap in his department's strategy and signed up for the Ivanhoe LEAD program. That’s what Go1 enables.”

Scaling Smarter
With the success of Ivanhoe LEAD, Brayden and his team are expanding the Go1 offering to include a full online induction program and integrated compliance training. Historically, onboarding relied on scattered documents and informal knowledge sharing. By consolidating these resources into a structured, trackable learning journey, new staff will have consistent, timely access to everything they need—from campus maps to child safety guidelines. Importantly, this also allows induction to scale across campuses, ensuring a cohesive and efficient experience for every employee. Compliance training will also move into Go1, simplifying access and further reducing cognitive load by eliminating the need for separate systems.
