While generational traits are never absolute, patterns do emerge.

A glimpse into Gen Z

Gen Z learners (born 1997-2010) are mobile-first, video-forward, and highly collaborative. They expect intuitive platforms and content that feels fresh, fast, and fun. They also crave career development. Go1’s research found 40% of Gen Z respondents are upskilling to grow into more senior roles or increase their compensation, goals that reflect their shift from entry-level to influence.

Millennials and GenX

These two generations often find themselves leading teams or managing growing responsibilities, and their learning preferences reflect that. Millennials (1981-1996) came of age with mobile tech and social networks. Gen X (1965-1980) grew up independent, shaped by self-reliance.
