Vaccination Programme (with anaphylaxis and basic life support)
Vaccination is the term given to treatment with a vaccine to produce immunity against an infection / disease. Immunisation programmes are amongst the most successful public health measures. This programme will be of interest to any healthcare professional who immunises children or adults or advises on immunisation for adults and / or children.
Nurses, Pharmacists, Healthcare professionals that vaccinate.
- The learner will gain the theoretical skills and knowledge required to safely adminster a vaccine and recognise life threatening complicatiosn associated with vaccination.
- Adminster a vaccine by the intramuscular, subcutaneous, intra dermal and intranasal routes.
- Recognise anaphylaxis and initiate imemdiate treatment.
- Recognise cardiac arrest and recognise basic life support measures.
May be used to provide mandatory annual refresher of skills.
