Course Overview

Selecting and Evaluating Safety Sharps will help a facility come into compliance with OSHA's bloodborne pathogen standard by focusing on safety sharps and needlestick prevention. Designed as education for your employees or refresher training for safety officers and/or safety committee members in medical and dental settings, the course covers topics such as OSHA’s bloodborne pathogens standard, a three-step method for compliance, and what to do if a needlestick occurs. Upon completing the course, students will be able to describe the features of an effective safety needle, address the requirements of OSHA’s regulation, and foster a culture of safety within the facility.
