One such hazard is the unexpected starting of machines or other unplanned releases of hazardous energy. Controlling hazardous energy can prevent injuries and save lives. That is the point of our facility's energy control or lockout/tagout” program. And that is the point of this program. Topics include the energy control plan, situations requiring lockout/tagout, lockout/tagout devices, energy control procedures, and returning equipment to service.
