The Purpose of Affirmative Action

Welcome to ‘The Purpose of Affirmative Action,’ a video lesson meant to explain the intended purpose behind why affirmative action exists. This lesson is the second of three in the ‘Affirmative Action in the Workplace’ video course meant to describe what affirmative action is and how it must be addressed at your organization. Affirmative action’s primary goal has been and still is to eliminate all forms of discrimination. Over time, the definition of protected classes has expanded to create a more inclusive society. This lesson describes why affirmative action exists, what it helps to correct, and how it works to offset discrimination entrenched in society.
