Course Overview
Fragrances, cosmetics, pharmaceutical drugs, packaging, bottles, marine fuel oil, petroleum, etc., are just a minute fraction of the enormous number of useful products made possible by the petrochemical industry. This module introduces learners to hydrocarbons and feedstocks and explains the petrochemical industry value chain. It also details the different product derivatives from each building block such as ethylene to polyethylene, PVS, ethylene glycol, styrene, etc.
