Course Description

The National Employment Standards (NES) are 10 minimum employment entitlements that have to be provided to all employees in the National System.

The NES entitlements include specific requirements about the notice required to be given to employees in termination or redundancy situations.

  • Understand an employer’s obligation to provide notice or payment in lieu;
     
  • Understand termination under NES, award and agreement interactions & differences;
     
  • Understand how to calculate termination payments;
     
  • Understand what documents need to be generated and record keeping obligations for employer-initiated termination;
