Managing Remote Teams

Build an effective remote team by learning how to compensate for the lack of face-to-face interactions

As a leader of a remote team, it is essential you make a conscious effort to create opportunities for your team to get to know each other. Without the benefit of daily face-to-face interactions, your team does not have the opportunities that would naturally occur if everyone were working together in the same location—that is, to get to know each other and build strong working relationships. Therefore, you must take the lead to create as many opportunities as possible to help your team get to know each other personally, as well as learn about each other’s work responsibilities, skills and capabilities.
