Managing for Engagement: Ridiculous or Strategic?

What is employee engagement? It's employee attachment, an emotional connection to the work they do, to the people they work with, and to the organization itself. It's a willingness to perform, and a willingness to grow and learn and continue to improve. Is this one of these trendy topics that organizations get hooked on?
