Let Go of Being That Crazy Micromanager at the Office

Updated Feb 19, 2019When you hear the word “micromanager,” what is the image that immediately springs to mind? For most people, it’s the figure of a forlorn employee sitting at his or her desk as an overbearing supervisor behind them leans over the employee’s shoulder watchingthem work intently. A favorite cartoon panel of mine depicts this image as the micromanager sternly growling into his anxious subordinate’s ear, “Jenkins … there’s no hyphen in the word, ’micromanager’!”
