Course Overview
This class gives an introduction to stablecoins. No prior experience with stablecoins is required to understand the content although a basic understanding of blockchain technology will be helpful. The class provides an ecosystem overview, as well as an examination of different approaches to price stability such as off-chain collateral, on-chain collateral, and no collateral.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, you will:
- Have an understanding of what stablecoin is and how it may be pegged to a currency or to a commodity price.
- Know the design features that makes Bitcoin a great candidate for serving as a long term store-of-value, but not so much as a day-to-day means-of-exchange.
- Understand that stablecoins build off of the foundation Bitcoin created, and be able to go a step further by solving the problem of price volatility.
- Understand that stablecoins have become a critical infrastructure layer for the decentralized economy.
- Learn what stablecoins are, why we need them, and the different approaches to achieve price stability.
