"HIPAA: Basics" provides an overview of the basic principles in HIPAA, HITECH, and Omnibus. The three principal areas of HIPAA will be covered: privacy, security, and breach notification. Over the course of the series, in addition to the three principal areas, we will explore the origins and current status of HIPAA, what patient information needs to be protected, and what the responsibilities of your organization are regarding protected health information.
