What if we skipped the judgment and eye-rolling phase of the process, the assumptions we make about other generations, and get right to accepting each other for exactly who we are? What if we shift our perceptions to “what do we have in common” instead of “they are so different, this is never going to work.” How much more efficient would the workplace be? With four generations working side by side for the first time in history, the workforce has become a four-way street. The quicker the lanes are clear to flow unencumbered, the better off everyone will be. And studies have proven an even more important point: the main beneficiary to organizations with open-minded, adaptive policies is that organization’s bottom line.
