Course Overview
In this 20 minute module you will meet some interesting characters who share their stories about the harm caused by drugs and alcohol misuse. Arm yourself with good information so you can decide what behaviours and strategies will keep you and your workmates safe from the effects of drug and alcohol misuse. This module incorporates a knowledge quiz.
Learning Objectives
After completing the module, you’ll be able to:
- Identify the controls used in the workplace to minimise risks associated with drugs and alcohol misuse;
- Describe your responsibilities as an employee to take reasonable care of the health and safety of co-workers;
- Comply with the requirements of the workplace drugs and alcohol policy;
- Explain why it is important to reduce or eliminate risk from the hazard of drug and alcohol use;
- Make informed and safe decisions about using alcohol and drugs outside of the workplace;
- Use safe and healthy strategies for dealing with personal stress and other contributory factors;
- Identify risk associated with drug or alcohol misuse;
- Respond to risk and correctly report a risk/hazard/incident.
