Disability 1 – Introduction to the Disability Sector (National Standards for Disability Services 1, 2, and 6)

In this module, we will introduce you to the many facets of working with people with disability within the disability sector.

In this course the following areas will be covered:

• key concepts regarding empowerment of people with disability
• the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) 
• key definitions and concepts
• avoiding stereotyping

Having insight into the disability sector, the NDIS and the National Code of conduct for Disability workers, will enable a disability workers to provide insightful and empowering support and ensure the organisation is meeting industry requirements.
