Derivatives Markets

Derivatives are financial instruments that derive their value from other assets or variables. Derivatives can be used for hedging and speculation (and often arbitrage) and are traded over-the-counter and on exchanges. Here we look at basic derivative trades, the different types of derivative market, and the types of asset on which derivatives are based.
