If you work overtime in California, this course is for you! As you might know, under federal law, nonexempt employees are entitled to overtime pay. This law indicates that they should be paid one-and-a-half times their usual hourly wage when they work more than 40 hours in one workweek. However, in California, the state law is a little different. In this course, we'll discuss those differences and go over everything you need to know when it comes to overtime pay, including when you should be paid, exempt versus nonexempt employment, exceptions to the law, and alternative workweeks.
