Welcome to ‘Affirmative Action in the Workplace,’ a video course meant to describe what affirmative action is and how it must be addressed at your organization. This course comprises three video lessons that cover the purpose of affirmative action as well as how to create a plan for its implementation. First, viewers will learn that affirmative action is a program meant to help prevent discrimination and provide reparations for historical discrimination against protected classes in everything an organization does. Then, the course describes the intended purpose of affirmative action for promoting inclusion, specifically in relation to how it applies to the workplace. Finally, this course covers how to create an official affirmative action plan. After viewing this course, learners will have a better understanding of how to be compliant with affirmative action. This program is valid for 1 PDC for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP and 1 hour of recertification credit through the HR Certification Institute.
