Build and onboard your content into Go1 using the native Go1 tools
This guide demonstrates the processes required to get your learning content built into the Go1 environment, using our intuitive and easy-to-use tooling. This guide should be used for all content types, except for integrated links (for integrated links please see 2.2 Author content via API integration).
The content authoring process is required to deliver your content to the Go1 audience. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you will be able to upload your eLearning content ready for learners to engage with.
The content authoring process requires two main elements:
The metadata you add is essential to help learners find and identify content that meets their needs.
Before you can get started on authoring your content in Go1, you will need to ensure you have:
Please review the Connect to Go1 page if you require to complete these steps.
The content authoring tools allow you to create two main types of items:
You should create a standalone learning object when your content is provided in a single file, for example just one video on its own. The single content file should encapsulate the entire learning provided to the user and not be a smaller part of a bigger learning pathway. If you have multiple content items that form a learning pathway or long-form course experience, see the Course type below.
You can create a standalone of the following types:
For instructions on how to create a standalone content item, see the following document: 2.1.1 Create a standalone content item
The course structure provides content authors with a mechanism to combine multiple content items and/or types to be structured together, providing a journey for the learner to reach their learning outcomes. This option should only be used when there are multiple files that you want to combine into one learning experience or when you want to use the Go1 tooling to build assessments that form part of the learning. If you are only uploading a single piece of content, please select the appropriate standalone learning object (Courses should not have only one learning object within them).
Within a course, you can include all of the same content types as a standalone learning object, as well as:
For instructions on how to create a course, see the following document: 2.1.2 Create a course
